Just one little question about your design. I know it may appear strange at first, but still I need to know one thing. Are there any planes or trains that go to Tesoro? And if so, are there insured armored freight ships going out of there? Oh, and where can I hire 100 able men to carry a few square things weighing, say, 100-200 pounds each? All very important things to know. By the way, I have already arranged for vacation this year...

P.S. All is good. Except for those page curl effects. Look a bit too artificial...

Hi Alex,

Well ,Tesoro isn't a place, as much as a location for "Treasure" in Italian. :-)
I suppose some die-hards out there will eventually translate the Italian lines back into English to tap into my silly mind.

"morte che imbrogliate" is my favorite line. it was "Death You Fool" before the conversion to Italian. However... translating back to English yields "died that brailed up". Wha?

C'mon, someone has to use the page curl effect during this decade. :-)

Hey Jeff!!!

Very good...Love the burnt effect there...
But I agree with Alex on this one...the page curls...ouch!
A bit too..."glossy" might I say?...
Probably adding a bit of noise effect might o'been good too...

But...the page curls...

hehehe...

You've ruined my day! Now I have to cancel my vaction plan. Go back to bank and cancel that order for the rental of their giant vault, and stop payment on the check for that bautiful yacht I have just purchsed... There is no joy in the life after all...

LOL
I agree with Alex on this one. Just go back and roughen them up a tad. Also seems a lil dark but that could just be my calibration.

Keep the yacht Alex. gotta treat ourselfs every now and then

hmmm.. if I change this too much now, people reading the above posts won't know what everyone's talking about! :-p However, here's a version where the highlights on the curls are toned down substantially.

Fluid, how did you adjust your brightness/contrast? Sometimes in the Corel Newsgroups people talk about buying calibration tools and creating custom profiles etc. I've never done any of that stuff, nor have any of the 3 shops I freelance at worried about it. What I do is crank contrast to 100% on the CRT (all places I work have CRT's), and then adjust brightness so that an RGB black desktop color looks black. basically I adjust so that I find the point where I can see a difference between Black and a... Dark Dark Dark Grey. The monitor should be on for about 20 min before adjusting, and the room lighting should be somewhat normal. Whatever normal is.

Ill have to check what my settings are. Since Beta Testing X3 I have done some funky things with my CM for testing. Your method sounds prertty close to what I do as well.
